Research shows that lighting can have a significant impact on mood and productivity. Natural light is best, and we intentionally design and build spaces with ample windows, doors, and skylights. The architectural plans take into consideration the orientation of the lighting elements, time of day, angle of elevation of the sun, and also incorporate additional lighting that is energy efficient and attuned to your daily routine. Ambient floor lights that illuminate a stairwell, auto-dimming lights in bedrooms, and wall sconces that provide less harsh direct light, are just some of the ways we adapt light to suit your needs. Whether light is used to brighten a room or your mood, or to calm your nerves and focus your energy, it is a key element in design and in our wellness commitment.

We believe that a breath of fresh air can make a world of difference. Of course, being in the great outdoors, away from environmental pollutants, is ideal. The reality is that most of the population spends 90% of their time indoors. Our goal is to make that time well spent–for relaxing, entertaining, working, or working out. For this reason, our homes have HVAC systems with MERV16 filters. The higher the MERV rating, the better the system is at trapping particles–and our standard, MERV16, is the highest rating. In addition to the systems we put in place to ensure better air quality, we also use products during the construction process, such as Low VOC paints, that support healthier spaces.
